More information
The information points of the German and Czech conservation areas in the Elbe Sand Stone Mountains can be found along the hiking trails and at central locations. At the information points you can rest, learn, ask questions and get information about the corresponding area and its particular traits.

Saxon Switzerland National Park

Get informed and expand your knowledge - you can do both of these things in many ways in the national park. A visit to the national park centre in the city of Bad Schandau is a good way to get an initial overview of the area and the park.

By contrast, the smaller, local information points in the national park each concentrate
individual themes and are there to answer questions that may arise during your hike.

The historic Amselfallbaude ("Lodge at Amsell Falls") between Rathewalde and Rathen, the Blockhaus Brand , in the vicinity of Hohnstein, the Eishaus on the Großen Winterberg, the Freigelände Waldhusche (outdoor activity area) in Hinterhermsdorf, the old Schweizerhaus atop the famous Bastei and the entrance area to the national park authority all invite you to spend time, think, experiment, listen, smell, touch ...

A tip:
Activities especially appropriate for children can be found in the
-> Amselfallbaude (2)
-> Waldhusche (4)
